My first try at Acrylic Nails using A.S.P Acylic Nail set from Sallys

I went out today and bought the ASP Acrylic Nail Sculpture Kit from Sally's beauty Supply Store. I immediately tried it out as soon as I got home.
I was saying before that I have been watching YouTube videos trying to gain some knowledge about acrylic nails and I felt I had enough now to try it out my self. One thing nobody told me though is how expensive the equipment or kits are, but I swear it is worth every penny.
Cause of the money shortage I had from buying the kits and tools I had to try to budget as best I could to afford everything. Instead of buying expensive glitters from a craft store I bought a cheap one from a discount store. I also didn't want to spend 6$ on one nail polish for designs, so I bought acrylic paint from the dollar store. I find the paints work just fine if not the same as nail polish. I did splurge on a top quality acrylic top coat though because I wanted the seal over the nail designs to last.
It was very stinky when I opened up the powder and bonding liquid but I was prepared for that. Surprisingly the products are very good quality. The only problem I found with the kit was the brush that came with it was a little on the shabby side. It was not soft enough or pointed enough. And hairs kept coming out and getting stuck to the nails. I suggest buying a professional quality brush before using the kit and also a brush cleaning fluid if you plan on using the brush again, which I am sure you will seeing as how the brushes go for about 20 dollars a pop for a good one.  I ended up running a trial and error before getting it right. What went wrong was I made the nail way to thick. I realize now that tapping the nail with monomer instead of continuing to add more powder is the best way to go. Doing your own at home acyclic nails is so easy that I recommend anyone to try it themselves it makes for alot of future money saving. The kit I bought was about 40 dollars and you get more than one use out of it. If you were to go to a nail salon it is about 40 dollars just for the one time thing.
My nails didn't turn out the best but it is a fair job for my very first time trying and this is with no previous experience or training. I think it is pretty nice! I have to say I am proud of my work.

At home Acrylic Nails

I am going to be attempting at home acrylic nails, I have never done my own nails before and quite frankly I am not that good at painting my own nails. But I figure with some practice, in the long run it will save me money instead of going to the nail salon.
I have been doing alot of research mostly via You Tube, I mean you can find everything on there including step by step tutorials on how to do basic french manicures to fancy nail art videos. I have gotten so many tips and I feel I have enough knowledge now do do it my self.  I don't know exactly which acrylic nail set I am going to be getting yet. There are a couple of kinds, including different acyclic powders like glitter powder and clear, and colored powder. I like the glitter powders but they are more for fancy artistic nails. I decided to go with acrylics cause gels nails are harder to do. Alot of people have said gel nails are less damaging to the nail bed and overall a better quality nail then acrylic but I like how you can work with acyclic to get it perfect, as as apposed to gel where you have to keep applying coat after coat. Oh and you need a UV light for most gels. Alot of salons will tell you that your getting a real gel nail and you pay a couple extra dollars for something that is acrylic with a gel top coat. It has happened to me. Don't be mistaken. That is not a full gel nail. Gel nails are a bit more complicated and take more skill, If you can find a salon that does real gel nails then good for you. I am going to be putting two links at the bottom to videos describing the difference between the two if anyone is concerned.
I will be going to get the supplies soon from Sally's Beauty Supply   store, it has everything from salon quality hair dyeing products to makeup, tools and nail manicure sets and decals and the kits to do at home acrylic nails. I just love Sally's because everything there is so cheap, and it is better quality then the regular drugstore brands. I don't know exactly which acrylic nail set I am going to be getting. There are a couple of kinds. I am going to be buying all the supplies and trying it out on a few people before I do my self cause I am not good at painting my own nails so I doubt I can extend my own nails without running into trouble. I am going to write another post when I do it and I will put Pictures up to show everyone how it went, so keep checking back.

I cut my hair. I hate it.

I have really thick unruly hair that needs to be tamed by being really thinned out I always wanted and edgy "scene" hair cut because it is perfect for me to have thinned out hair while keeping the length. I have been to so many hair dressers and I can't seem to find one who can cut my hair the way i want. So I decided I would take matters into my own hands.
So I started watching self haircut YouTube videos yesterday and I found this video by a girl named Racheldoll. It was amazing don't get me wrong the problem has nothing to do with her, or her videos it was amazing and helpful, I just messed up. I decided that cutting my hair with a razor the way she did hers was my only option to finally get the hair I wanted. So I went ahead and went to Walmart got the little razors she used in her video and came home and started cutting my hair. I got carried away it was like I just turned off my brain and kept cutting. After I was finished everything was fine, I loved the results. I didn't think it was so bad after I cut it, I asked my sister in law and my BF and they thought it was okay, well actually my bf was sorta in shock he loved my "Wonder Woman" hair before and didn't seem to say much to me about my new hair. I straightened it and put it up and I thought it was nice.

Now I am not too sure, only a day later an it seems like there is nothing I can do to style it. It is soo thin and chopped up and short on some parts I can't wear it down! I feel like I look stupid with an 80's haircut gone wrong! I don't know what I am going to do till it grows out I loved how long my hair was now it just so UGLY!! I feel like going to the hairdresser to see if they can do something about it but I can't deal with more being cut off! Short hair on me is just too gross, I NEED long hair. What am I going to do?
