I was saying before that I have been watching YouTube videos trying to gain some knowledge about acrylic nails and I felt I had enough now to try it out my self. One thing nobody told me though is how expensive the equipment or kits are, but I swear it is worth every penny.
Cause of the money shortage I had from buying the kits and tools I had to try to budget as best I could to afford everything. Instead of buying expensive glitters from a craft store I bought a cheap one from a discount store. I also didn't want to spend 6$ on one nail polish for designs, so I bought acrylic paint from the dollar store. I find the paints work just fine if not the same as nail polish. I did splurge on a top quality acrylic top coat though because I wanted the seal over the nail designs to last.
It was very stinky when I opened up the powder and bonding liquid but I was prepared for that. Surprisingly the products are very good quality. The only problem I found with the kit was the brush that came with it was a little on the shabby side. It was not soft enough or pointed enough. And hairs kept coming out and getting stuck to the nails. I suggest buying a professional quality brush before using the kit and also a brush cleaning fluid if you plan on using the brush again, which I am sure you will seeing as how the brushes go for about 20 dollars a pop for a good one.
I ended up running a trial and error before getting it right. What went wrong was I made the nail way to thick. I realize now that tapping the nail with monomer instead of continuing to add more powder is the best way to go. Doing your own at home acyclic nails is so easy that I recommend anyone to try it themselves it makes for alot of future money saving. The kit I bought was about 40 dollars and you get more than one use out of it. If you were to go to a nail salon it is about 40 dollars just for the one time thing.

My nails didn't turn out the best but it is a fair job for my very first time trying and this is with no previous experience or training. I think it is pretty nice! I have to say I am proud of my work.
