Lightening my Hair without Damage (Part 2)

Hello again. As I spoke about in my last post I did dye my hair with the l'oreal preference extra light ash brown. My mom is an old pro at dying roots so I got her to do it. I bought 2 boxes because my hair is thick and long. we mixed the first bottle of dye and applied it to the roots first, the covered the rest of the hair with the second bottle. I was very worried when the dye went into my hair because the formula was very dark black liquid. I kept saying, "This better lighten my hair!! I am gonna be so mad if it turns it back to a darker shade after everything I went through." It did not go dark, the shade is now a light warm brown, it is still a bit red toned which I don't mind so much, I am just happy my roots were lightened without bleach and the Wella Color blended so nicely with this new shade. The ash dye has a bit of a dirty blonde tinge to it which helped to cover the red a lot! I think I will just stick to using this shade for the next time my roots come in.
